How Load Time Affects Response Rates
The short answer is a lot. If we exclude confirmation page pop-ups, your survey load time is your greatest lever for increasing survey response rates. Fairing waits until your order confirmation page has loaded, then our script initializes to display your survey. If you have a lot of scripts running, it may take a second longer for our script to load, which will dramatically reduce your survey completion rate.
The below chart compares survey response rates to average survey load time. A clear negative correlation exists, where response rates drop as load time increases. Surveys that load in under 1000 milliseconds tend to achieve response rates above 60%, while longer load times result in a steep decline in response rate.
To optimize your survey’s performance, aim for the fastest load time possible by minimizing scripts and removing any elements that may delay survey visibility on the confirmation page. If no other scripts load on the page, Fairing will appear instantaneously from the customer’s perspective.
