How Question Rank Affects Response Rates

The chart below highlights how views, responses and response rates change based on question rank. Question rank meaning the position the question exists in your Question Stream (1st, 2nd ... etc.) - not necessarily the position it was answered in.

Questions answered earlier on, especially the first one, get the most attention with the highest numbers of views (views here are calculated as the mean across all Fairing brands). But as the questions progress, there is a noticeable drop in views. Interestingly, even though fewer people engage with the later questions, the response rate actually increases, peaking between questions 7 and 10 and staying above 80%. This suggests that while fewer participants interact with higher-ranked questions, those who do are more likely to respond. Therefore, we never discourage asking more questions!
